5Cute. Does the job.Sep 30, 2012

This scrubby holder is very cute. The colors are just like in the picture. It's bigger than I thought, but it does only fit a scrubby, not a sponge. I don't understand why people rate it low because it doesn't fit a sponge. I mean, it's called a scrubby holder, not a sponge holder, right? Seriously. The scrubby fits just fine inside, comes out easily, etc. Once you accept the fact that this little guy is a scrubby holder, you'll find him quite enjoyable.

This shark is still a nice addition to my kitchen although it isnt exactly the way its pictured in the advertisement. The picture I took and displayed of it is indeed the actual color as what you will see on your counter. The advertised shark in the picture was very funny when I first seen it with a look that said to me "uh oh, Im busted" and the actual one I recieved didnt have that look. I understand each is hand painted so hopefully yours wont be like this one but whats in the advertisement. I had e-mailed the company(4-11-13)to let them know of the mistake so Im waiting on their reply. I will update this review and let you know if the companies going to make this right by sending me one like the one they advertise or put the blame on someone else and disregard this complaint. Hopefully they make it right and give me the one they advertise so I dont have to pass on anything they advertise in the future due to what I believe is false advertising. Obviously the one advertised took alot more time to paint but it's what I was expecting. Had the picture displayed the shark they actually send you, I wouldn't have paid as much as I did to get it here.

UPDATE:The BT Groups reply was I can return it if I dont like it and they'll have Amazon check their invetory. Maybe Im wrong but it seems to me like the company promoting the product should be the ones checking the invetory before advertising it to make sure their customers are getting what they're expecting especially when what makes the product unique is left out! I for one know not to trust the accuracy of description even whens theres a photo from the BT Group or Boston Warehouse involved.

2nd Update- Wow, The last time I heard from BT Group, they said they would change their pic of their shark because of inaccuracies but instead of changing their photo, I see they changed their name and took my accurate pics and description off the page. I guess they couldn't take my review off. Shame on them and their poor way of doing business!

1Boston Warehouse Pink Earthenware Pig Scrubby HolderOct 21, 2012
By birdoplie -
When I received the Pig Scrubby Holder, you could see it was clearly not in good shape, the finish had been applied to it with defects in the product, there are scrapes and holes in the finish and I just left it in the box. I tried to contact the vendor/seller and all they said was contact Amazon. If you sell a product you should stand behind it. The seller said I would not have to send it back and that I would receive a replacement, well, I have yet to receive the replacement! I will not recommend doing business with Boston Warehouse to anyone!

5I got lucky because....Sep 02, 2012
By R. Schilling "R. Schilling"
I've seen many reviews for these 'scrubbie holders' in various pets, fruits, shapes, etc...and many of them arrive broken or of poor quality. I ordered the Fat Black Cat and held my breath. Mine is perfect. It was packed in a small brown cardboard box sitting on a piece of styrofoam with piece of styrofoam on top. NOW, had it shipped alone if definitely would have needed to be packed into a larger box with packing bubble wrap or those 'air pillows' around the small box. NO WAY it would have survived shipping in the small box it comes in. Mine was inside a larger box, well packed because it shipped with another item. So no breakage possibility for mine.

The cat is larger than I thought. If I cup my hand, like I'm making a claw, and place it over the top of the cat, my fingers do not touch the counter. And I have fairly large hands for a woman. It measures approx. 5 1/4" long from butt to outer cheek and 3" tall at the top of the 'hump' on it's back. The "hole" in the back for the scrubbie is 3 1/4" wide/long, and 2" high at the highest point...and is shaped almost like an almond. Not perfectly oval. But you'll be able to get any scrubbie in there unless it's the size of a baseball. Even then, you can smash it down. Oh, and it came with a small (3") white scrubbie in it.

My cat is perfectly painted. The eyes and whiskers are finely painted and absolutely the same geometrically. (One eye is not bigger or sloppier than the other). The whiskers and eyelashes are even and each the same width. The little red nose is off kilter by about a 1/16 of an inch. Not noticeable unless you get really on top of it and go 'OCD' on it. Same thing with the white tail that wraps up the hind leg. It's a tad, and I mean a smidgen shakily painted. Not machine perfect, but not like ocean waves noticeable. Again, you'd have to hold it three inches from your face to notice it. The painted mouth is fine. The color of the cat is a deep jet black and the white is white. Not ivory or yellowed. The paint job is perfect. No tiny 'dots' of missing black. And no "pits" in the porcelain. NOT ONE tiny dimple anywhere. Perfectly smooth! It has a super shiny glaze on it.

The bottom of the cat does not have rubber pads or anything to keep it from sliding or scratching a marble counter, however, it IS sanded down so fine I can almost guarantee it won't scratch. Super smooth!

I am VERY happy with my cat, and am being overly picky because I appreciate it when I read reviews that go out of their way to give as much information as possible.

I would definitely recommend the cat, but hope that your's arrives in as good a condition as mine.
